Alright, so I've had lots of messages over the last month about our wall bed! Asking why we got rid of it or if it just wasn't working out for us. Saaaadly, it simply broke. We had bought it second hand and gotta say it's one of the first times we've been truly failed by craigslist! It was incredible for the 6 months or so that we had it, truly a life saver and I would highly recommend it for making it work with littles in a small space. Especially for city living where rent is expensive and it can be a struggle finding a place you love. We absolutely love our apartment, yes it has its quirks and downfalls like the shared laundry and the ants I'm constantly fighting. It doesn't take away though from the spacious layout that works so well for us, the big bedroom that's perfect for the kiddos, all the sunshine and big windows and of course not to mention the dishwasher Dan installed recently. Of course the biggest one, the cheap rent. We've been here for over 5 years and if we want to upgrade to a two bedroom, our rent will increase by about 50% eek. So needless to say, every time we've started just looking to see what's out there, we quickly shut down the idea because we just have a good thing goin' on.
So, for now, we just have a mattress in our living room, it does the job, but we're hoping by the late fall we'll be able to afford a new one! It is such a space saver and we miss it so much. It's really the only way we're going to be able to make it work here with two kids! A comfy pull out couch is the other option, but I'm much more into keeping our dreamy Endy mattress and getting the folding bed.
Hazel is a big fan of the comfy bed to snuggle on, and realistically, the first few months with a newborn? The murphy bed would be down at all times anyway! So soon we'll be on the hunt, but for now, I'm focusing on Hazels room and making room for baby things, and as I always seem to be doing, purging.
