Books before bed with my girl. It's my favourite time of day these days. Once dinner's finished up, and bathtime is done (no bath tonight as you can see by her little mango moustache) Hazel will look at Dan or I excitedly and say either "a few books, yes!" or "3 books" in a very serious manner. She runs off to her room grabbing one book at a time, and running to our bed and throwing it down, and off to grab more. She has her favourites and knows them all by name. Bunny Roo I love You, There's a Wocket in my Pocket, and Runaway Bunny, are the top reads of the week.
We had our 20-week ultrasound today and it was amazing. It was so much fun, so special. Dan and I both had no feelings or idea about the sex, my feelings change day to day, but either way I would have been surprised! We got the best technician, we told her we really really wanted to know the gender, and she said it's hospital protocol, she's not allowed to tell us, we were both bummed. Dan was leaving for the weekend straight after the ultrasound, but we wanted to find out together, so we were like crap, do we have to wait until MONDAY?! We kept hinting how we really wanted to know, and I asked her if it's ever very obvious on the screen, in a bit of a cheeky way. She pretty much went straight to an upwards bum view of the baby and showed us the legs and made it very clear what we were looking at! Dan and I exchanged excited glances and mouthed our guesses, like, is she saying what we think she's saying? It was fun and special, I teared up, and she told us everything looked perfect, our baby was measuring normal and the heart looked healthy, all good things we wanted to hear. Hazel was excited about the little step ladder and was singing a mashup of "Jesus loves me" and the Doxology" the whole time. It was so fun.
I'll link some of our favourite books below because I looove discovering new books to add to our growing collection. I've ordered many on Amazon after seeing a cute one on someones insta-stories, and have a shopping cart still full of them ;)
