After the crazy-ness of Vancouver Mural Festival and Lindsay and I doing the market, we decided we needed a little escape to celebrate our 6 year anniversary! I think we've started a tradition of heading to a Gulf Island or the Sunshine coast and I love it. We booked it just a few days before and I'm so happy there was 1 room available at the amazing Woods on Pender, we tried to stay another night but everything was booked solid, I guess that's what happens at the end of Summer, next year we'll be a bit more prepared.
This girl is busy these days. She always has been, but ever since she's started walking it's just been so extreme. She's always moving, climbing, running. It's exhausting but oh so fun (most of the time), not during dinner when you just want to enjoy a hot meal, and she just wants to "go-go."
She was having the time of her life in the ocean, it was freeezing but she was just loving it, she's always been scared of the waves but it was so calm, I need to find a good lake and take her swimming soon!
She's perfected her pout.
The result of peek-a-boo with a new friend outside when you have dirt all over your hands!
If we didn't have such a long way home I would have taken all of these flowers! Road side flower and fruit stands are the best, sometimes I wish I lived somewhere where they existed and we could walk down the street to get plums from a neighbour, not anytime soon, though, maaaaybe someday.
We stopped by Sea Star winery on the way to the ferry, we loved their wine and took a few bottles home with us! Such lovely people there and a gorgeous vineyard. Hazel loved the all the steps out front, of course.
