Our plan for the last day of our trip was to wake up in Seattle and spend the day at the Zoo! We had our airbnb booked in Portland and hadn't figured out where we were staying in Seattle the next night. Me being my planning ahead for anything self, of course, was checking the weather to make sure we'd get a nice day! After having a nice breakfast and checking out of our airbnb and figuring out our plans for the day, suddenly the weather for the next day changed to RAIN! oh crap. It was around 11 and we were on our way to grab some Pip s mini-donuts (my Portland fav) and so we decided to ditch our day in Portland and head straight to Seattle. I'm so glad we did! I'm not a big Zoo person, but I've heard Seattle Zoo is pretty amazing and this girl just loves her animals! It was a bit of a delayed birthday plan that we had promised her weeks ago, and even though she probably would have forgotten, I was so darn excited to see her see some snakes in the flesh. We made it in time to get a few hours and it was so much fun.
The butterfly garden was for sure her favourite thing. Go figure. We pretty much had the place to ourselves and she was just running from butterfly to butterfly with her arms waving in the air, it was awesome. I love seeing her experience things that she loves. I mean, we see a butterfly when we're on a walk outside and she has to chase it and get as close as she can, so dozens of them floating about, she was in heaven.
Of course her first carousel ride as well :) The day was rushed and a bit frantic, definitely not what we had originally planned, but it was all worth it. We finished our day at 8oz Burger & Co. and had theeee best burgers of our lives. And then stayed at a really bad Ramada, haha perfect way to end our holiday. Can't wait for more of these to come with our growing family <3
Hazel's adorable bloomers and bonnet are from Rain People and my favourite top of hers from VonBon. She's been wearing this top at least a year, it's been covered in icecream and every fruit imaginable, and still is in amazing condition, so it was a great investment and I'll definitely be getting more! Also, her sweater is size 6-12 months HA.
